Short Blog 1 – The one with the introduction

I’ve lived in some form of a city my entire life. I started off in Chennai, India, then moved to Kuwait City, Kuwait, and now I’m here in Toronto. I spent around 8 years in each of the first two so I had plenty of time to learn about them and delve into the good, the bad, and the dirty. But I’ve only been in Toronto for a few months, so this blog is me trying to learn more about Toronto and sharing what I learn with all of you.

I’m taking this class because I think blogging will prove to be a great outlet for me to develop and express my opinion on the happenings of the city around me, such as increasing traffic and congestion or the levels of discrimination. Hopefully, by the end of the course, I’ll know the city I’ll be spending at least the next three and a half years in a little better so I can help make it better in whatever way I can.

What I love about Toronto is how diverse it is – and I mean that in every sense of the word, Whether it be walking down King’s College Circle and glancing at the Romanesque University College with a backdrop of tall glass skyscrapers, or meeting people from places I’ve never head of, or crossing the street next to a man in a suit on my right and a woman in ripped jeans and a band tee on my left, Toronto embraces and accepts everyone and everything in their true forms. And, of course, who wouldn’t fall in love with this view?
